The Salamanca Public Library was originally built as a Carnegie Library on South Main Street in 1920.

After many years of growth and service to the community, the Library Board studied the possibility of an expanded facility.  In 1976 a group of volunteers renovated a former supermarket on Wildwood Avenue into the current Library.  It is truly a community library.
